GEO HOSPITALITY GROUP

24 Ιουνίου, 2025

Geo Hospitality Group of the Georgoulis family, after the investments in the hotel sector with 3 hotels in Athens and Agios Petros Arcadia (Athens Platinum Rooms & Suites, 1900 Athenian House & Parnon Hotel) and the shopping center in the suburb of Athens (Lagonissi) which includes a gas station, a supermarket "Bazaar" and a cafe "Coffee Lab", has proceeded with a new major investment with an Elderly Care Unit in Athens in a privately owned 5,000 sq.m. building within a 4,000 sq.m. plot.
The Unit with the distinctive title «Athens Platinum Health & Care» is not just a modern Elderly Care Unit. It is a 5-star hotel for hosting elderly residents with a day rehabilitation center, a physiotherapy center and two ultra-modern indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
This investment amounts to EUR 15 million and came from the Georgoulis family's own funds, which was spent on the purchase and construction of the modern Elderly Care Unit, which was put into operation in June 2025.
We look forward to showing you around our modern facilities and introducing you to the services we offer to our elderly residents.

How to Choose a Nursing Home in Athens

October 21, 2025

Deciding to entrust your loved one to a nursing home is one of the most delicate and emotional decisions a family can make. In Athens, many elderly care facilities exist, but quality, atmosphere, and philosophy vary significantly.
1. Location and Accessibility
Choose a facility that’s both peaceful and easy to reach. The Northern Suburbs of Athens offer a calmer environment, ideal for elderly care, while still being accessible from central Athens.
2. The Human Factor
Care quality depends primarily on people. Meet the nursing and medical teams — ensure they are compassionate, patient, and well-trained. A caring team makes all the difference in daily life and emotional wellbeing.
3. Services and Amenities
Modern elderly care goes beyond nursing. It includes physiotherapy, rehabilitation programs, recreational activities, and specialized Alzheimer or dementia care.
4. Environment and Atmosphere
Pay attention to the surroundings: cleanliness, natural light, and serenity. A space that feels more like “home” and less like an “institution” enhances the residents’ comfort and sense of dignity.
5. Communication with Families
Transparent communication between the facility and relatives is key. Regular updates, open visitation policies, and honesty reflect professionalism and respect.
6. Pricing and Transparency
A trustworthy care home offers clear pricing with no hidden costs. Compare the included services and overall quality rather than just the amount — a slightly higher fee can often mean much better quality of life.

Choosing the right nursing home is ultimately a decision of love and responsibility. Take your time, visit in person, talk to the staff, and trust your instincts. Learn more about our care at Athens Platinum Health & Care or book a visit today.

5 Signs That an Elderly Person Needs Specialized Care

November 05, 2025

Caring for an elderly loved one is an act of love — but sometimes, home care is no longer enough. Early recognition of the signs that professional care is needed can protect your loved one’s health and improve everyone’s wellbeing.
1. Frequent Falls or Mobility Problems
Repeated falls or balance issues are clear indicators that constant supervision is required. In a professional elderly care facility, the environment is designed for safety, with anti-slip floors, rails, and physiotherapist support.
2. Memory Loss and Behavioral Changes
Dementia and Alzheimer’s often begin with subtle changes — forgetfulness, confusion, or repetitive speech. Specialized Alzheimer care can help slow progression and provide comfort to both the patient and the family.
3. Neglecting Basic Needs
Forgetting to eat, take medication, or maintain hygiene indicates that independent living is no longer safe. In a care facility, the staff ensures consistency, dignity, and daily wellbeing.
4. Loneliness and Isolation
Social isolation can worsen both mental and physical health. Elderly care units provide activities, companionship, and community, fostering a renewed sense of purpose and joy.
5. Family Burnout
Families often experience exhaustion and guilt while trying to provide round-the-clock care. Choosing a professional facility is not abandonment, but a responsible decision that ensures your loved one’s safety and comfort. Recognizing these signs early allows families to make compassionate, informed decisions. Professional elderly care supports — not replaces — the love and bond that hold families together.
